Carmel Bonello (b. 1960, Si??iewi ) is a leading Maltese expressionist painter whose work is distinguished by bold colour, dynamic brushwork, and emotional intensity. Trained at the Malta School of Art under Joseph L. Mallia, Bonello captures the energy of Maltese landscapes, figures and abstract forms through vigorous strokes and vivid chromatic contrasts. His paintings convey spontaneity and mood, often exploring the relationship between inner feeling and visual rhythm. Bonello has exhibited widely in Malta and abroad, and his works are held in numerous private collections. He currently lives and works in Mellie?a, where he maintains his studio and gallery.
