He went on to work professionally as a carpenter, developing the precision and artistry that now define his work. Today, Joseph uses his skills to creating handcrafted scale models of traditional Maltese balconies, preserving an iconic element of Malta's architectural heritage. The model shown here exemplifies his craftsmanship: a meticulously constructed wooden Maltese balcony featuring finely framed windows, functioning hinged openings, and traditional bracket supports.
