Description:
Tony Cassar (b. 1947) is a predominantly self-taught artist whose preferred medium is oil, though he also works with acrylics and other media. He completed a three-year Diploma in Painting at the School of Art, Valletta. Deeply inspired by Malta?s natural and rural environment, Cassar is particularly known for his evocative landscapes and his recurring depictions of traditional Maltese chapels set within their surrounding scenery. His paintings capture both the beauty of the land and the quiet charm of these timeless structures. He has participated in numerous collective exhibitions and has recently held a successful solo exhibition, achieving excellent public and critical response.
