Description:
In my youth I attended the School of Arts in Valletta and much later frequented the studios of the late Winston Hassal and Anton Calleja. However for many reasons painting was not my top priority! After I retired, my time was my own. Through my plein-air sessions I have become familiar with the sights and contours of our islands.
I let my imagination play with abstract but recognisable places. I try to capture the mood of the place as I experience it . This particular picture I painted on a hot June morning. I set myself up among the dried grass but after some time the ants were set to torture me. They won and I had to give it up and finish it off at home.
