Kenneth Zammit Tabona is a leading figure in Malta's cultural life, distinguished for his lifelong dedication to the performing and visual arts. For over three decades, he shaped public discourse on music and theatre through his prolific reviews for The Times and The Sunday Times of Malta. His long association with the Manoel Theatre culminated in his appointment as its first Artistic Director in 2014, overseeing an extensive programme of opera, drama, chamber music, and recitals. He is the founder and Artistic Director of the Valletta International Baroque Festival, established in 2012, which has brought prominent international ensembles to Malta's Baroque landmarks and significantly enhanced the island?s musical profile. He also founded the Valletta Baroque Ensemble and The Monteverdi Project, initiatives that nurture performers specialising in early Maltese and Italian repertoire. An accomplished watercolourist and illustrator, Zammit Tabona is known for his vivid depictions of Maltese landscapes and interiors, represented in collections in Malta and abroad. Honours from France and Italy acknowledge his major contribution to European culture.
