Mary Clare Albanozzo ( nee' Podesta) has had a lifelong love affair with art. She joined the Malta School of Art in 1995, graduating with a Diploma in Fine Art in 1999. She studied painting under Tony Sciberras, Alfred Portelli and Matthew Cassar, History of Art with the late Emmanuel Fiorentino, and outdoor painting with John Martin Borg. She has twice been awarded a scholarship by the Society of Arts for having placed first in examinations in Advanced Art. She has also , for many years now, been producing sculptures , having studied under Joseph Casha, Joseph Chetcuti, Gianni Pace and Joseph Galea. Her first solo exhibition was held at Heritage Malta Head Office, followed by several others, and she has taken part in numerous collective exhibitions. Two great things that happened in her art life were when she joined the Plein Air Art Group and the Pastel Society of Malta, of which she is still an active member. Being a great boating enthusiast, she paints marine subjects with a passion.
