Pauleen Micallef (b.1951) is a British-born Maltese artist who has always lived in Malta. Inspired by the island?s vibrant colors, she became a dedicated plein?air painter, capturing landscapes, seascapes, flowers, portraits, and the human figure. Her versatile practice spans oils, watercolors, acrylics, pastels, inks, charcoal, and chalk, moving between realism, impressionism, and expressive styles. Mentored by Maltese artist Ms. Spiteri Staines and Norwegian painter Olaug Vethal, Pauleen has developed a distinctive voice that resonates in private collections both locally and abroad. A committed supporter of philanthropy, she regularly contributes to charitable art events. Her philosophy reflects her deep connection to her work: "When a painting is hung on someone else's wall, part of the artist remains there too." Pauleen has also created a series of sepia ink paintings of Malta's prehistoric temples, now on permanent display at Heritage Malta.
