A life-saving experience offered by St John Ambulance Malta Training Branch for 12 participants. The Emergency First Aid course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid. It is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments, such as small offices. The course covers first aid protocols for adult casualties only. By the end of this training participants will be able to recognise life-threatening situations, manage a casualty while waiting for more qualified medical help to arrive, be able to provide single-person CPR on an adult and use an AED in a cardiac arrest situation. This course provides basic lifesaving first aid skills and knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, covering: adult resuscitation (CPR), burns and scalds, choking adult, communication and casualty care, defibrillator prompts and know how to respond, defibrillator pad placement, minor and severe bleeding, role of the first aider, seizures, shock, and unresponsive adult. The delegates will practice the use of AED on AED devices dedicated for training. As it's not always practical to send employees off-site for training, especially when you have a group of people who require the course, we are able to offer group training on your premises. There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Available by mutual agreement. The language of instruction can be in Maltese or English. The duration of the course is 7 hours excluding breaks. The course can be delivered over 2 days (3.5 hrs per day excluding breaks). Available 2023/2024.
