Smoked salmon is serious business at H. Forman & Son, the East End’s last smokehouse, founded by Harry Forman in Stepney in 1905 and run today by his great-grandson Lance Forman at Fish Island in Hackney Wick, London. We offer the chance for four people to enjoy a unique tour and salmon tasting at this famous smokehouse. Following a fun introduction by Lance Forman, you will kit up in protective gear to descend into Forman’s famous London smokehouse where you will be shown the process of producing the world’s finest smoked Scottish salmon, including a smoked salmon carving demonstration on the factory floor by the Guinness World Record Holder, who previously won a carving competition against Gordon Ramsay. Afterwards, take a seat in Forman’s, the onsite riverside Restaurant and Bar which has an incredible view of the Olympic Stadium and a viewing gallery into the smokehouse. It is here you will enjoy a smoked salmon tasting platter, accompanied by a bottle of still or sparkling water. If there is an exhibition on at the time you will have a tour of the Forman’s Smokehouse Art Gallery, a spectacular contemporary art project space on the top floor of the Smokehouse. Dates to be agreed. Donated by H. Forman & Son
